Call first one, lean towards folding the second one. But for hand #1, don't try to be cute with 72o... just fold it. [/ QUOTE ] Hehe yeah i know, im usually only semi lag and would never normally raise with complete junk in CO but this table was TIGHT |

Re: 50 NL - Strong hands facing a huge push (1st ever post)
First hand -
We've had Baluga Thereom, I think there was something in El Diablo's well thread where his rule was "if you can beat AA on the flop, it's OK to get it all in". Really looks like 88-TT putting you on missed overs there and I think I'm calling. Hand 2 looks like a fold. I don't know what else bets this beside a set a or 2 pair, otherwise villian is just crazy. |

I don't see why anyone would push with 88-TT if he puts you on missed overs. Putting in a small raise to let you make a slightly incorrect call is the way to go. [ QUOTE ] Hand 2 looks like a fold. [/ QUOTE ] If he's crazy you valuebet/call, if he's not crazy you check behind (because he'll fold anything you're ahead of except QQ/KK(very unlikely) and maaaybe AJ). I don't see how bet/fold is ever correct here. |

Re: 50 NL - Strong hands facing a huge push (1st ever post)
WTF this is NL50. You guys are really folding hand1 because he might have a set?
Hand2 can easily be AJ-QJ, but against a total unknown and without some more information (have you been 70/50/10 over your last couple of hands?) i _might_ find a fold. But hand1: jeeez, he could have Q7 if he is pissed off cause you are aggressive. I can't be that way off? |

Re: 50 NL - Strong hands facing a huge push (1st ever post)
both hands are played fine
yeah - and don't get cute w/ 72o unless specifically for meta-game reasons, basically - you should always turn your hand up if you win the pot. |

Re: 50 NL - Strong hands facing a huge push (1st ever post)
Hand 1 is an insta-call. On this board, at NL50, this is an overpair WAY more often than it's a set. If you happen to get stacked this time, well, nh sir.
Hand 2 is a fold. Turn check-raises usually have one pair beat. You could be ahead, but I wouldn't count on it. |

[/ QUOTE ] On a 257 rainbow board, it doesn't make any sense to make a 100+ BB push over the top of a standard c-bet with any hand. Obviously villian is tilted or pissed off, so what's his most likely holding? A mid pair makes the most sense. He has an overpair to the board, wants to protect his hand from overcards, and wants to tell hero to stop making [censored] raises. |

Re: 50 NL - Strong hands facing a huge push (1st ever post)
Hand 1: call and watch him get pissed that his overpair is cracked by 7-2
Hand 2: fold |

Re: 50 NL - Strong hands facing a huge push (1st ever post)
Ok i called both without much thought because i can be a bit impulsive and went with my instinct that i was ahead both times.
In hand 1 he had 55 for a set but i still think the call is right because there's very little im afraid of and i had just seen him get over aggro with draw. In hand 2 he had AJ and i took down a nice pot but after reading the baluga theorem i don't think a call was the right option without much stronger reads. |
