Flop is good, though I really hate our kicker.

What was your plan on the turn? Why were you betting out rather than check-calling or going for a check-raise? What was your plan if he raised your donk?

the kicker sucks but I would have done the same. I would have put villain on A 10 or 10 8s but when he just calls the turn and the river my hopes would be high

This looks fine. If you lost to A8 or something then so be it. It can be a leak to get too attached to BB hands, but this isn't one of those hands.

Once he capped the flop I'd switch to c/c mode.

I agree with this. I don't think you played it too aggressively at all plus you have an advantage of being the first hand played sometimes guys at tables think donks just sit down and try to buy a few pots. When he just called the turn its looks to me like he may have an open ended straight draw and more likely a bigger limped in pair. I think you played the hand perfectly though given the situation.

At .10/.20 against somebody who posted in UTG+2, definitely not too aggressive. I would've been tempted to try for a check-raise on the turn or river. If you happened to run into TT or a better 8, that's poker, I think most of the time you showdown against T-junk or a pocket pair.

I didn't think this was the place for a c/c or a c/r. I wanted to see what he would do after betting into him after he capped. If he had raised me I would have called and c/c the river.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
Here are the results for the curious.

Results in white below:
Hero has 8h 4s (three of a kind, eights).
UTG+2 has Ts Kc (two pair, tens and eights).
Outcome: Hero wins 12 BB.
