Re: 200-400 Hand.
This is not very close at all. Who ever said fold here is giving up some serious equity in my oppinion.
I call in spots much worse then this, but then again I'm probably a calling station. |

[ QUOTE ] FWIW, this is a spot wher ei never used to call. [/ QUOTE ] I thought the same thing. I routinely make this call now. However, I am willing to concede that live I would almost certainly fold. [/ QUOTE ] awww we agree on something does this mean we can be friends?!?!? |

Re: 200-400 Hand.
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] - button is a typical high stakes player, so he might be willing to cap preflop but then give us a free card on the turn (AK comes to mind here as a hand he might play very aggressively but then check after being called twice on the flop). [/ QUOTE ] I think you and some others may not be considering that this game was played in Vegas (I assume) where there is a 5 bet cap preflop. That may be enough to change the answer to this problem with respect to the buttons hand range. This is not some kid on the internet playing 99 and thinking a cap will be good to gain control of the hand. This button 3 bet DS and was fully aware that he could get 5 bet. That skews his han range and drives up our reverse implied odds a bit. [/ QUOTE ] OTOH, it also means that the initial raiser's hand is likely nothing to write home about. |

Yeah, if you're calling in spots much worse than this you're on crack. [/ QUOTE ] I dont need crack for that. But I certainly call in some spots like this with less money in the pot. As I said the hand in question is not marginal and if you think so then you're on crack! . |

Re: 200-400 Hand.
I'd put it between an easy call and a close call. The backdoors increase your pot equity enough to continue on.

Re: 200-400 Hand.
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] it may depend a bit on my knowledge of button, but i'd likely call here. [/ QUOTE ] For me, it would depend on my knowledge of the opener. [/ QUOTE ] i've thought more about this and i agree that i'd like to have a good read on the opener as well, and actually would RATHER have a read on this guy. would he call 2-cold back to him prelop with a hand like AJ? what is he peeling this flop with? if he has a hand like 77, wouldn't he try to c/r me out of the pot on the flop? i think his flop call is more of a problem than button's flop bet. |

Re: 200-400 Hand.
Close call if you think it might go check/check on the turn. Or close fold if you think he will bet the turn most all the time!
