Default 50NL, flush and gutshot draw, played like a wimp?

I feel like i played this while castrated, thoughts:

Party Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.25/$0.50
8 players
Converter

Stack sizes:

MP1: $110.80
Hero: $61.20
CO: $25.65
Button: $75.39
SB: $49.50
BB: $20.15

Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is MP2 with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
3 folds, Hero calls, 2 folds, <font color="#cc0000">SB raises to $2</font>, BB folds, Hero calls.

Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($4.5, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets $3</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($10.5, 2 players)

Your draws put three to a flush and three to a str8 on the board. You have position, you can get to see a free river. Raise the flop.

(That's assuming you have decent fold equity)

All I mean is since the raise is a semi-bluff, if you have any reads pointing to a loose player who won't fold the flop, it's better to call.

SB bets 8 into a 10 pot after the turn. You have 13 outs and even if you hit your diamond, you do not have the nut flush.

Odds are ~27% you hit one of your outs. Your asked to put in 8 into an ~18 pot, or ~44%... There could be an argument here to have folded and not called his bet.
