Only 4 songs I'm currently madly in love with. The first two are old-time favorites I've been digging again. The second two

Carl Craig - A Wonderful Life

Beautiful enough to cry.

Boards Of Canada - 1969

Very, very dark.

Pixies - Here Comes Your Man

Best riff in the history of guitar.

Talking Heads - Genius Of Love + Girlfriend Is Better

From the Stop Making Sense live album. To dance and go wild to.

Fulsom Prison Blues (Live of course) - Johnny Cash

Might be the greatest song I have ever heard. It has meaning and purpose and is being sung to an audience that appreciates every word.

My Wife and My Dead Wife - Robyn Hitchcock

I am a huge Hitchcock fan, and some people just don't get him. This song is the dividing line. Some people see it as an almost nonsense song. It is really a touching and wonderful song about losing someone, or losing a relationship.

Welcome to the Terrordome - Public Enemy

The most viscerally powerful rap song. The lyrics don't make sense if you read them, but in the context of the music it just works. I give Mike Tyson props for using this as his entrance song.

Motel 6 - Cub

How Cub did not become a household name is beyond me. Listen to it just because they are impossible not to like. It isn't deep or important, but it is great feel good music.

Underwater Moonlight - The Soft Boys

I considered The Replacements, Color Me Impressed for the last spot, but I think most everyone has heard it. This whole album is just a miracle for its time. Yes it is Robyn Hitchcock again, but this album is just a wonderful and strange prelude to what would become alternative rock. The title song of the album is the best example for most people, without the weirdness of many of the tracks.

After looking through the replies..i had to retrieve my forgotten password because i was so ashamed not one person said any song by the Dave Matthews Band. Definately the best band over the past 15 years.
So instead of posting 5 different bands i'll give you 5 Dave songs.
Warehouse
Bartender
Lie in our Graves-quite possibly the best violen solo ive heard out of a jam band
Seek Up-also excellent drum and violen solos
and for the hell of it, their version of All Along the Watchtower. Try and download this from the central park cd.
Actually, i prefer everything he does live, so be sure and make sure they are all live, Warehouse is also excellent on the Central park soundtrack.
Maybe you all have heard everything he has and just dont like his style, i dunno.
also Red Hot chili Peppers-Soul to squeeze, let me know what u think.
