My solution is: I own my laptop, I have a Verizon Wireless Card. I can play on my machine on my connection while in the office. No one is the wiser. Not everyone can set themselves up like this though.

Yes. Although they could probably also look at your work and tell that you haven't done any!

I'm suprised they actually allow access to the site in the first place. Most likely explanation for this is that someone in your firm's IT department knows exactly what you're up to but, instead of ratting you out, just has a note of your passwords.

thanks for the info. i will try logmein.com. I doubt if the man is checking the logs too carefully. The job is quite slow paced so have a bit of free time to ahem research my new career

You are looking like and actually using your computer at home. So you can play poker or surf whatever web sites you like without interruption by any web filters or any log files activities. The downside is that maybe you can't get to it. Some web filters will be set up to block getting to logmein or gotomypc.

Another option, ssh tunneling into your home PC. It's free, plus you don't have to touch a 3rd party site like logmein.

I was stuck behind my desk all day and it wasn't much fun (this was back when planetpoker was the only game to play online). I double dipped by playing while I was working. How can they tell? Reason I ask is this. Where I work there is a proxy filter for internet. You have to go through the proxy obv to access the internet, msn messenger, etc. Once I was bored so I turned off the proxy address on my computer and wasn't able to access internet. But, Party still loaded fine. Likewise AIM loaded and worked too.

If you really want to play at work and you're paranoid about being caught using Verizon wireless like that one guy mentioned is a good idea.
