COMRADES! TO ARMS!
Since the dawn of civilization, there has been a staggering amount of inequality in the world. No sooner, after all, did mankind's ancestors leave behind their migrant/subsistence lifestyle in order to create a permanent society than did some members of the group emerge as leading members. And it will come as no surprise that the institutions created under the regime of the dominant class have been systematically engineered to uphold their advantage. This is a morally untenable arrangement for society, is contrary to all that we think of as progress, and can no longer be allowed to control the development of history.
Until everyone has exactly the same initial life conditions, how could we ever hope to achieve true freedom? As long as some people are still being born to rich families, families who value education, or traditionally patriarchal societies, there is no hope of a just future. Only dramatic action--real societal overhaul--will create the environment in which all members of society can flourish. It is therefore imperative that all resources be immediately redistributed uniformly across society; handouts to all without regard to social background, race, gender, or talent. The miracle of communism is that the system can do things for people that they can't do for themselves. On his own, the average citizen is completely impotent, incapable of sustaining himself in the capitalists' economy and doomed to, at best, a life of physical struggle. Under the benevolent rule of the communist party, he would flourish, supplied with his material needs no matter how oafish, clumsy, slow-witted, unproductive, or reproductive he may be. He need not even know how to read to thrive under the communist system. What, you may ask, will we do about today's priveleged class, those who would surely object to the redistribution of the fruits of their efforts and the thesis that any beast fortunate enough to possess human DNA is entitled to anything they've created? The people who would prefer to thrive under a competitive economy than to blindly support every biological entity our species is able to produce? We'll kill them, of course. We'll stamp out every vestige of resistance to our utopian movement, stopping not even at small rhetorical offenses. It is abundantely clear that no measure of violence or repression should be impermissible as we seek to achieve our ends. Only when all resisting factions have been completely eliminated will we be confident in our ability to assure equal standing to even the most objectively retarded or completely disabled among us. When the whole of society functions with a single philosophical view, an unadultered dogma, practically a centralized mind--then we will have achieved the ideal world. The key instrument to our advancement will no doubt be a sub-sector of the capable population, those who have the assets necessary to compete effectively, but whom we will convert by offering an ideological solution to their post-religious angst. Such is the void they feel that they will eventually volunteer to sacrifice themselves on the altar of communism. The complete destruction of their own individualism will become a source of perverse pride and they will be completely unwilling to accept independent thought among their peers. There will, of course, be individuals who choose to remain inconspicuous while maintaining their skepticism of our motives. These are still individuals in the meaningful sense and are thus too dangerous to permit in our society. We'll begin our assault on them by eliminating the concept of free expression altogether, couching our program in a rhetoric of tolerance and a culture of offense. Then we'll identify them with the tools of infiltration and deception before brutally purging their ranks in order to at last attain complete control. Only when it is impossible to express any viewpoint which is at all counter to our aims can we rest, for then we will have created a life befitting the majority of humanity. Class conflict is the absolute law of history--let's not be afraid to break a few eggs. |

Re: COMRADES! TO ARMS!
I'd at this point like to tell everyone that I had no interest in politics until I read A Communist Manifesto.
After that, I became a Libertarian. |

Am I the only one who thinks it was just completely mocking socialism? I found it hilarious. [/ QUOTE ] Probably. I'm guessing that most of us pulled the angry comment trigger once we saw the "C" word. This should trip up a wandering trigger happy ACist though, should be funny |
