Default Better to be older or younger sibling?

Assume there are two of you only. Also, you can differ in opinion depending on older brother vs younger sister or older brother vs younger brother, etc. Discuss.

well if there was a clear cut obvious answer, why would he make the thread in the first place? this is a discussion forum.

Well...since my brother posts on this forum as well, you can probably get both sides of it in our family. I'm the younger brother, and I'm much younger than he is(10 years and change). There were ups and downs to it. I probably didn't bear the brunt of my parents' attention, anxiety, and what-have-you, but I was also consistently being left out of things because I was too young. Overall, I'd say it balances out to neutral, though...older or younger doesn't really matter, at least in my case.

If it's older brother and younger sister I'm not sure it matters much.

If it's older brother and younger brother, I would definitely say older.

If it's three brothers, then being the younger brother now has some advantages, but also gets extra disadvantages.

At least the poll's results won't be biased.

younger can learn from the older's mistakes, my older brother is 18months older and I've learnt from his errors.

My little brother is 6 yrs younger and has come back round full circle to making the older's mistakes.

So younger>older but middle=best of all.
