explain why this is cheating?

sometimes it feels good to cap every street and see who wins. he probably had kings in the big blind and everyone knows that the ace will fall on the river. might as well just fold them preflop.

Does miles ever offer legit posts or is he just around to amuse himself by thinking he confuses people?

It amuses me that you chose this thread to make your first factually based post.

no it was obvious what he was doing and everyone called him down. He won some big pots while his losses piled up.

Yes he does offer legit posts. If I were to hazard a guess, he's been around here long enough to see many subjects like this one come up over and over again.

What you describe isn't cheating and you didn't provide any evidence that it is. The guy's a maniac, and at the micro limits you can intimidate almost all the players at the table playing that way. Not everyone is smart enough to c/c him down with strong non nut hands to negate his aggression so my guess is he was able to pick up enough to keep him going. Not all too surprising with the passive fish.

Edit: Soon grasshopper you will learn to apprieciate the wisdom of the fish beraducator.

miles I apolagize. I was irritaed because it actually took me several reads to realize you were sarcastic, you just got me.

This guy was no maniac, he was clearly playing to maximize losses. Cheating may be the wrong word. But how is playing like this to his advantage.

he was a drunk, on crank, a gamblor, 9 years old, won the lottery, or...whatever. There are billions of billions of players online, so we get the gamut.

one time a while ago i lost a lot of money at my usual limit. then, coincidentally there were a bunch of 2+2ers at a .02/.04 stars table and we capped every street. it was quite therapeutic, and i even manged to get lucky and somehow win $1.18. it was fun. for some people, whether they are steaming off at a lower limit, or otherwise, doing this is just fun. poker is fun.

ps. not everyone plays the same way or for the same reasons.

Do 2+2ers routinely refuse free cards?

[/ QUOTE ]
yes.

the sign of a great player is a fold last-to-act on the flop when it is checked to him. it is a slowplay avoidance play and relies heavily on metagame/psychological tendencies. say you have AK and you raise preflop. 4 see a flop of T76. you know someone has 66 and it gets checked to you. you fold so you don't feel the need to call down if you hit an A or K.

ed left it out of SSHE because new players would misuse it.

[/ QUOTE ]

I knew the fish at my table were wrong to berate me everytime I do it.
