Default More 32Red Shenanigans

Ok, for some dumb reason I decided to play these guys' monthly bonus, despite all the horrible things that have been said about them on this board (my first mistake).

I just played a hand of blackjack where I had Aces against the dealer's Ace. I rejected insurance, and because the software returned to my play option, I assumed that this meant that the dealer did not have blackjack.

Now, it turns out that the dealer does not check for Blackjack until AFTER the hand. Fine...I imagine that that would make it NOT +EV to split my aces, since I'd only get one card on each, but I would be able to suck that up as a penalty for not closely reading their blackjack rules.

But here's the shock -- I received Blackjack on both of my split aces...only to LOSE all the bets I had on the table (48 GBP or almost $90) to the Dealer's Blackjack.

I have confirmed via Live Chat that this was not a software error, and that I am S.O.L. I insist to the CSR that the Dealer winning on a push is unlike any BJ rule I have ever seen, but IGNH.

Anyway...pretty un-player friendly Blackjack rules -- stay away from these guys if at all possible, their decent-sized bonuses aren't worth the hassle IMO.

IGNH?

That rule is pretty weak, I don't see any reason to play there.

"I get no Help" -- more often used as a poker term for being behind in a hand and not sucking out on the turn or River.

After you split you cannot get a blackjack. You should have lost a single bet if you were playing on a normal table. If you were playing ENHC you should have lost both. If it wasn't ENHC, you have a valid argument.

Hi Homer,

Thanks for the reply. I profess my ignorance -- I do not know ENHC is. For what it is worth, I was playing "Atlantic City Blackjack Gold;" each Blackjack variant has 12 of its rules listed right below the game listing (stuff like Surrender [yes], Double [any 2 cards] Split Aces [No Draw], etc.). Seemed like the most favorable combination of rules, but obviously this is where they get a little extra HA.

I've played a few casinos that are like this. You have to watch the rules sometimes.

I am pretty sure the "Multi Hand Atlantic City BJ" (non gold) doesn't include the european hole card rule (which is what you are describing), although as someone posted splitting aces and getting a ten on each isn't a blackjack, just a 21. If it was actually 2 blackjacks they would pay you 3/2 not even money. I wonder if this is intended or is another error with the gold series they released.

Microgaming software offers lots of blackjack variations. Don't blame the casino because you picked one with rules that didn't favor this particular hand.

For future reference, when you are playing a "no peek" blackjack game, you lose all bets on splits and doubles if the dealer ends up with blackjack. This includes all totals of 21. Notice that when you split aces, if you draw a ten, this is considered a 21, which loses to a blackjack.

The vast majority of the blackjack games offered at microgaming casinos have the dealer checking for blackjack before you act on your hand.

32Red is one of the best microgaming casinos out there, in terms of customer service, monthly bonuses, and overall fairness.
