So he's not going to be killing kittens or misdiagnosing people from a video tape at the rally?

And Raymer, Lederer, and Ferguson should be there if they can. All 3 are very smart, classy, sharply dressed, and great speakers.

Sadly, I think it will all boil down to appearing to 'do something' concerning internet money transfers and possible terrorist activities. Politicians are out to get elected and the electorate are ignorant and can be beguiled into believing too many things that come out of these silver tongued devils (politicians) mouths.

I have spent the last few minutes looking for Cedar Rapids coverage of this event, and have been pretty unsucessful. This link is labeled the "Top Story" of their newscast, but has very little information.

All of which goes to show that this has been a non-story all along.

Is it a coincidence that the event was the same day as Riverside Casino's grand opening (less than 1hr south of Cedar Rapids)?

I just checked the story on this on our local paper.

Leach pointed out the story of the kid that the Boston Globe went apeshit with ($7.5K in debt, bank robbery).

They all went high and mighty on regulated gambling = the nuts and nonregulated gambling = drawing dead.

It's so stupid. Why is the NFL/MLB/NBA/NCAA/NHL involved in this? It couldn't affect them either way.

These people are [censored] crazy, period.

Also, running anti-Kyl ads seems to me to be a terrible idea and a waste of money. The goal is to win in the Senate, not trash the bill's sponsors.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why wouldn't anti-Kyl adds be effective? He is up for re-election. If you get adds out that make him look like a anti-limited govt. buffoon who is intent on banning our past times and entertainment, he might not get as many votes. If he doesn't get re-elected wouldn't that be a big statement?

Michael: If you want to print up a bunch of fliers, I'll take time to distribute them all over phoenix.

The PPA is supposed to be a pro-poker lobby group, not trying to whack politicians who aren't pro-poker. The moment it become the latter, it will lose respect with the politicans that they're supposed to convince to help us.

Absolutely correct. The PPA's job is to educate and convince Senators & Members of Congress on a single issue, not attack their character or their re-election campaigns. Also, no amount of flyers are going to change the results of the race. See Rasmussen Reports polling for more.
