Default Playing 99 in SB

Stupid to raise preflop? Stupid to bet into 5 people with that board? Would you continue where I stopped?

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

Flop: (12.00 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, Button folds.

Preflop raise is ok...would be better if you had the button though. I like to raise mid pairs against either 2 or less opponents or 6 or more. 5 is borderliney but its not that big of an error, if you hit your set you will get paid off well against typical .50/1 loose passives. On the flop just give up, there is basically no way your hand is good here, check fold almost always.

Don't know if I would have raised here OOP with 4 limpers already in the pot. Microplayers who have already limped is hard to get to fold with a raise preflop, and when you are first to act, unless a 9 hits the flop, any overcard would look scary IMO.

I would call preflop then check/fold the flop. If nobody bet the flop, I would probably lead out on the turn.

with that many limpers, and being so OOP, I'm starting to complete 99 in the SB. The way you played it, If I'm betting this flop into 5, I'm betting this turn. I'm glad you check folded though. I think that was good.

I don't see the problem with the raise PF. For a not much investment you got 12SB into the pot on a reasonable holding. You could have completed or raised.

Looking at the flop I would assume that with that many people in the pot that one of them has a King or Queen and so you are probably cooked at that point so I'd check/fold.

Out of interest, what was your thinking behind the flop raise?

What does "NH" mean?

PF raise is standard I believe..you have a really good hand, almost certainly the best one atm, a raise is called for. Also, flop is just a continuation bet...I'd make it in this spot with 99 or AK...you raised PF so it looks like this flop hit you well. I don't know if the BB and MP2 calling would necessarily convince me that I'm drawing to 2 outs, they could also have straight draws, flush draws, etc., would be largely read dependent.

Another one of my great leaks. Always seem to push too far with this scenario.

I like the raise PF.

I am betting on the flop.

On the turn check/fold with 2 players, Bet/fold with 1 player. This can't be the right play.

I don't see anything wrong here.
