Um... i think the drivers for your ethernet card should be on your Dell cd. If you installed the drivers you may need a reboot....

The recovery cds that Dell sends out are specific to a particular model. The ethernet adapter is not usually in the Windows driver set.

Why are you paying anyone to do any work? You don't need any help. Just go to a friend's house and save the drivers on a cd or memory stick. Take them back and run them.

The driver cd you used prob didn't have the correct drivers for your specific adapter. As I said they are specific to certain models.

Just go to Dell's site and put in your service tag and your OS and download the things. It's not hard.
