Button not moved
Playing a hand at a casino and noticed while the 2nd card being dealt that the buttonhad not moved and I was SB again. I mentioned it and dealer killed the hand and re-dealt.
Is this the normal procedure and was I a nit to even mention it? |

Re: Button not moved
Standard procedure. If the button is out of place, it's automatically a missdeal unless action has taken place.

Re: Button not moved
You're not a nit at all for not wanting to pay the small blind twice. As far as how the hand is handeled, that depends upon how far the dealing has gone. If just a couple of cards have been dealt, and no one has looked at them, the dealer may ask those who have been dealt to slide their cards to the left. After all of the first cards have been dealt, and the second cards are being started, then a misdeal would be standard.

Re: Button not moved
Totally standard, and it was correct for you to mention it as soon as you noticed it. Well done. q/q |

Re: Button not moved
Once while playing at The President in St. Louis the dealer didn't notice the button not moving for 3 straight hands. Finally some guy asks "How many times do I have to post the big blind?" and not in a smartass way, but in a I have no idea what Im doing way. I pointed out that the button hadn't moved for 3 hands and the dearler started huffing like I was a bother to him and he called the floor. The floor just gave back the small and bigs 2 extra round of blinds and said "play on".
WTF? |
