I feel like I should be able to fold the river but I just couldn't do it. I'm so frusterated and hate poker so much right now that I find myself calling, knowing I just got rivered again, but just calling to prove to myself how disgustingly horrible I am running..

Yes, this is a probably a bet-fold. It's not an easy laydown to make when you're running like [censored], I know.

If you are going to fold the river to a check-raise, id rather check because the pot is enormous

Because the pot is so huge you'll probabily get call downs from weak hands so a value bet is good here.

I would call the check-raise though, the pot is sooo large and there's a very small chance he's making a play with an obvious scare card. It's probabily slightly -EV, but ill be willing to take that in this situation for personal sanity and meta game purposes.

Bet-Calling >>> Checking (not to even mention the possibility of bet-folding, which is probably very slightly better than bet-calling).

bet bet bet and then call and don't worry because if you have a policy of never folding to a river c/r in a 17BB pot it's not that huge of a mistake if at all. If river is a 7 of **spades**, yah, that's gross and all draws got there and I tend to chicken-check vs two gargoyles.
