So I was bored as [censored] today and decided it was time to go make the easiest $15 an hour anyone could make by playing 8/16 live. By a twist of fate about as likely as a hurricane or earthquake, I somehow find myself down like 8 big bets after 5 hours. Then it happens.

Some idiot opens in EP. 4 people coldcall. I see A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in the small blind. THREE BETS SUCKAH LET'S BUILD ME A BIG POT BECAUSE I HAVEN'T FLOPPED A PAIR WITH AK TODAY SO I'M DUE. Stupid woman gets mad in the big blind, clearly indicating she doesn't want to play for 2 more bets, but she does anyway. A few of the original people call, some dude says "let's gamble" YEAH THAT'S THE SPIRIT and caps it. 7 players for 4 bets preflop.

SO I MISSED THE FLOP, BUT WE'VE GOT TWO MORE CARDS COMING AND I'M SEEING AT LEAST ONE. Check to the original pfr, he bets like an idiot. A few downies call, some LAGtard woman raises. I'm getting 500:1, almost enough to peel just for the backdoor flush draw, even better if I count my overs as some sort of outs. I tell the dealer GIVE ME WHAT I NEED.
At least 4 people for 2 bets to the turn.

The bad news is that I'm not folding if I catch an A or K on the river. The flop raising idiot folds. I call, big blind calls.

And this sort of expert play is how you run at about $30/hour in this game for like 180 hours.

Yeah, 8/16 was fun when I first started playing it and I had like a $5k bankroll and it was the biggest game I played. Now it's the smallest game I play and it bores me, but not as much as playing online.

There's like a 0% chance of 15/30 or 20/40 getting started on weekdays, I was somewhat surprised that 8/16 actually got going today, I had planned on losing a buyin or so at NL and leaving. On weekends there's a slightly better than zero chance of a bigger game going, so far it has only happened once out of the last four or five times I've tried on Friday/Saturday.
