Re: Soccer blog previewing English Premiership
Putting a lot of time and research into it so is a good interesting read.
I disagree a bit with you about Reading and know form bitter experience that coming up as champions, even record breaking ones does not mean instant success in the PL, I am a bit surprised that they havent bought a couple of players though. Goal scorers are really key and generally the most important element for the promoted clubs and they have a totally unproven strike force for the PL. I also think West Ham and Wigan are not formalities for staying up, the second season can often be even harder than the first and I dont think either club has bought well (The money paid for the Heskey in particular). Both need to get off to good starts or it could be a long hard season for them. |

Re: Soccer blog previewing English Premiership
Ian Wright is going to have a great season for Arsenal this year. Also, John Harkes is one of the Premiership's best players. He's gonna take his team all the way.

Re: Soccer blog previewing English Premiership
The scum Newcastle will not be a top 6 team this year, midtable at best even with the signing of Duff. Roeder has a very dodgy record as a premiership manager and has a habit of doing well in year one before totally destroying a team and them being in big trouble of relagation, I can only dream of that though.

Re: Soccer blog previewing English Premiership
WOOOOHOOO!
Martin O'Neill is the new Aston Villa manager. Now I just hope and believe that mr. Randy Lerner, the Browns owner, buys the club from that old fool Doug Ellis. Interesting times for the villafans. |

Re: Soccer blog previewing English Premiership
At least I made some money back off MON going to Villa to compensate for the loss when he didnt come to Sunderland.
Gregory was on five live being interviewed and he thinks that even now with all the possible takeovers that Ellis will gove up. Basically saying 100m is nothing to him and that he lives for the Villa job and would have nothing left if he didnt do it. I think you guys need some serious investment to turn it round and get up into the top 6-8 clubs and may take 2-3 seasons to do it. I am hoping MON wants Phillips cos if not he will come back to Sunderland which I am not 100% happy about. |
