Re: Worst plays you\'ve seen in the history of ESPN WSOP?
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but he was getting like 25-1 implied if he hit, whereas Fowler called 25% of Hoff's stack, which was ~5% of his own, I think. [/ QUOTE ] Okay, I didn't know his implied odds were that low. I knew Fowler had some serious suckouts headsup but for some reason I thought the stacks were more even before the last hand. |

[ QUOTE ]
[I hope you're kidding, This isn't in the top 1000 worst plays ever televised. He had two overs, a flush draw, and could also have been bluffing the str too. now his REREREraise with K5o on a KT7 board vs Barch IS in the Top 10. [/ QUOTE ] how about his flat call on the flop with only Q high on a rainbow flop? |

Re: Worst plays you\'ve seen in the history of ESPN WSOP?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] what about that guy last year that lost all those chips with a K-high flush vs a n A-high flush. three perfect days of poker down the toilet, what a clown. [/ QUOTE ] How does that even get mentioned in a thread about the worst plays in WSOP history. Sure, the guy got overly emotional about it, but he didn't donk off most of his stack with nothing. He had the 2nd nuts in a spot that a lot of opponents would've pushed in with hands that he beat. [/ QUOTE ] It is called "sarcasm" |

I remember some donk calling a LAG down on a scary board with K high. And the donk won.

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Ted Lawson calling Freddy Deeb's river bet with nothing, thinking he had a straight he couldn't possibly have given the board, in the 2004 $5K PLO. That takes the cake for me. [/ QUOTE ] Agree with this as the worst ever, but you have the details wrong. [/ QUOTE ] You're right. Hadn't seen it in awhile. In fact, I think I'll go back and watch it again, and reaffirm that if Lawson can win a bracelet in PLO, I certainly can. |

[/ QUOTE ] It makes me very sad to think I will probably never get close to winning such an event in my best game and that guy can win it when he played so badly. On another hand he re-pot-raised when he caught the worst possible full house on the river and Deeb says he's making a crying call with a full house. When Lawson showed his hand and says "fives full of eights" it looked like he thought he expected to win. He then acted like he got coolered when Deeb shows a better (but weak) boat, eights full of fives. Follow his chip stack when they report it. He was constantly flying from first to last to first to last. |

Re: Worst plays you\'ve seen in the history of ESPN WSOP?
No one has even mentioned Zilem's worst play:
It's folded to Zilem in the SB, and he limps in w/ 42o; BB checks. Flop: TTx - it goes check, check. Turn: a 4 comes off - again it goes check, check. River: a 2 comes off - Zilem then CHECK-RAISES!!! He gets reraised (the other guy had T4 for the full boat), moans for a while, and finally folds. What hand could he possibly believe could call his C/R, that he could beat? |
