Well, you aren't that big of a favorite vs AK, and 6% PFR almost never re raise out of the blinds with AK.

i dont play this high, but i would also tend to think BB with a PFR of 6% would raise much more in this situation. I would think this raise has to be a big pocket pair

Grim this of it this way... JJ was not good enough to re-raise against UTG preflop with that dead money, and now an equally tight straightforward BB has re-raised the field. While there is more dead money in the pot, you have zero folding equity, and you are basically always a 4-1 dog.

obv he had KK and I failed to spike a jack.

but im wondering if there really was any merit to pushing or if it was suicidal

ya dude dont listen to these nits. there was so much dead money in the pot you practically had the odds to race against KK. round up and gamble!

you should just automatically fold jacks preflop, any positon, any scenario.

Suicidal. Doesn't even seem close.

Pushing is significantly -ev. Folding is 0ev. Calling is significantly +ev.

Yes, that's right. Folding is better than pushing.
