Windows media problem

When I try to watch video on WM, MOST of the time all I get is the audio, but no video. If I close and open it several times, my video will eventually show up. If I click on a video link and it opens up in the browser, I don’t seem to have any problems. Also, when I go to my security cameras in my web browser, all I get is a black screen. I’m not sure if the two are related. I have uninstalled and reinstalled WM, but it hasn’t help. Any ideas would be appreciated.
