Thanks for the responses - basically we're never folding is the msg! And no this wasn't a bad beat. I thought about it for like 3 seconds and called expecting to chop.

Villain shows 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] MHIG and says "I just didn't think you had it this time..." and leaves

I was shocked to see villain pull a move like this on such an obvious board...

[/ QUOTE ]

Don't be shocked, I'm absolutely amazed at what people push with at this level. Even more amazing is that this doof likely would have called you if you had made the push. They bluff push expecting you to fold, then they proceed to call expecting that you are bluffing.

O RLY? I know where the BBV forum is if I were looking to post for sympathy. And how did you get **45** combos with a king? Please do share.

[ QUOTE ]
Clearly he turned up 22 or you wouldn't be posting. There are about 45 possible hands left with a king and one hand left with 22. You have to call up to about 45 times half the pot or $600.

[/ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]

Sorry, I wasn't trying to insult you. It just seems like a fair number of posts (including me) come from losing hands.

There are 45 cards left in the deck after the six we can see and the K we assume he has. That makes 45 combos. Some should be discounted because they are so poor, but 45 are possible.

Again, sorry about my unfortunate phrasing.

Spot on.

[ QUOTE ]
I don't think you ever could fold this. If you think it's a chop, you would obviously call for your 50% equity on the existing pot. So the only question is comparing how often you are ahead to how often you are behind. People at this level tend to make ridiculous moves, I think it's much more likely you are ahead than behind after he pushes. He's more likely to raise a smaller amount with 22, more likely to try something really stupid like pushing with a weaker hand.

[/ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]

just to be a nit, even if villain pulls this move with 22 and NEVER pulls this move with a wosre hand, it is still almost always +EV to call. So comparing how often he has a hand that beats you to a hand you beat actually doesn't make that much difference, its actually more important to look at how often its a split vs how often he has 22.

Thats all besides the point though, this hand is obv a very easy call

If you ever fold this you must be a psychic or have actually seen his 22 face up.

I'm curious, would anyone here call for 3/4 their bankroll??

I'd need 4-5 buyins or more to start consider a fold. 2 BIs is a no brainer for this hand.

i would not call with 3/4 of my roll. thats just dumb (risking that much for a usual split).
