Default QQ runs into river raise with wheel draw on board.

No reads on villian. 200NL is higher than I usually play (I've worked my way up from 25NL to 100NL).

The wheel worried me on the turn but given his flop call and turn check through, what's my play on the river?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

MP ($231.01)
Button ($380.20)
Hero ($202.70)
BB ($164.35)
UTG ($194.35)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $1.
1 fold, MP calls $2, 1 fold, Hero (poster) raises to $6, 1 fold, MP calls $5.

Flop: ($16) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $10, MP calls $10.

Turn: ($36) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP checks.

River: ($36) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $30, MP raises to $60, Hero ???

As I sat there wondering, my gut was telling me that he had an ace and that I was beat. Should I listen?

Was my check on the turn a mistake which allowed him to let me take a stab at the river whereas a PSB on the turn allows me to fold to a reraise or, if villian calls, to check the river and fold to a decent bet?

As played, folding is good. I prefer check-calling the river. Same price, cheaper showdown.

I think this is a fold, I play alot lower limits so people are calling preflop raises with everything but at this level I think that the guy has an ace and believe you are behind. If I was in your shoes I would have checked the river and hoped for a cheap showdown. If he bet then I would muck it.

You say "as played."

What would you have done differently? More on the flop bet? Bet turn?

raise to 8 preflop 4xBB+1BB per limper

bet flop a lot closer to pot for value

check call river because an A is very likely, is the straight was say from 3 to 6 then a smallish river bet would be just as good
