Default Ever had a jersey shortened? Tips?

I got a new Eagles jersey in which I will be enjoying the upcoming 17 sundays and monday nights of sporting bliss. My problem is that the thing is way long on me (I'd estimate 6+ inches), so I'm thinking about taking it to a tailor and getting it shortened.

Is this just not done? I've noticed that the kids with their hipping and hopping and kneepants and sticky hands from eating candy tend to wear them even if they're really, really long. Anyone ever had a jersey shortened? Any tips for getting it done decently? Do I keep the "authentic jersey" tag or just let it get hacked off with the excess shirt?

Thanks-

-bb, anticipating "grown men don't wear jerseys" responses and some sort of penis jokes due to my making reference to the length "6+ inches" but hoping for something more useful.

Get some shoulder pads, that should help the hide the excess length.

I thought a Jersey Short-end was going to be something like a Cleveland Steamer.

OP,

You should never set foot in veterans stadium. Doing so carries an abnormally high probability of harm for you.

Yeah, entering a nonexistent stadium is generally a bad idea.

miagi,

My bad, which phone company is the current stadium called? It's always veterans stadium. [censored] the ad mongers.

[yes I know they tore down veterans but it's principle]
