Pretty standard for me against someone that passive. Sucks when he has AJ though

Re: i just folded top two for the first time ever
This isn't easy for me anyway. Couldn't this easily be AJ/A7/QJ from a 67/15 donk?
Also when they push like this quickly when the flush hits I get suspicious. First, would this type of dude really push here with a flush? Second, usually a 67/15 will pause for a moment when his flush hits, as the "oh my god, I hit my flush!" penetrates his thick skull. But anyway, to me it's close. Getting 2:1 I probably talk myself into a call here. I am calling too much lately though. |

i also call too much, i am trying to make thinner folds. however this could have disasterous results

ugh, I probably fold but I think its VERY close. And its not close between flush and two pair. Its between air and flush.

Re: i just folded top two for the first time ever
agreed, i used to play hold em with some omaha enthusiasts who loved doing XXXX like this... i don't think that's as easy of a fold as some people are saying, oh well, still probably the right move... this is a real good example of why i'd much rather play NL live, you'd have a much better idea whether he was just messing around if you could look at his face...
had a hand pretty similar to this a while ago in a live game where i folded two pair: posted the BB from mid position and got 89, flop comes down 289, i bet, turn is a Q, i bet, and then river is a 10, I check and my opponent quickly pushes for about 1.5 times the pot... i look at him square in the face and know that he somehow stuck around with a jack, i fold face up, and his face turns white... he said he had AQ and thought i was just messing around (I'm known as a pretty aggressive player) but i later found out he had QJ, it stings makin plays like this but sometimes that's what you gotta do |

Re: i just folded top two for the first time ever
so what hand are you putting the other guy on exactly? he can't know that hero has a huge hand, so is he just gambling on the fact that hero has a hand big enough to call an all in when there is an obvious flush on board? obviously if he has a flush he wants a call from any two pair and any ace, so why wouldn't he just value bet if he actually had it? if the guy is a good player he's going to realize that a $120-$150 value bet will be called enough times to have a much higher +E.V. then the few times he gets an all-in call for a little under twice the same value bet... i do have a couple ideas about why he might've made the all in bet WITH THE FLUSH, but i'm curious to hear your ideas on the matter
