do a PSO promo (pokersourceonline.com) if you like online play and have the rooms available to get the NJ chips. Complete the promotion, Pay $100 for the upgrade to 500 chips. Problem solved.

If you go this route, let me get the referral or not

If you have a sporting goods store near you, they will most likely have chip sets. I got mine from Academy Sports and Outdoors.

I can't believe no one from the FCN got to you yet, but if 'bang for your buck' is what you're looking for, then you'll definitely want to check out:

Faux Clay Nation

These are plastic chips that weigh roughly 9-9.5 grams per chip and have a sound that is quite similar to actual Paulson clay chips. Do they sound/feel exactly like high-end chips? No, no of course not. And they are simply solid color (no edge spots, no patterns) with a basic dice mold.

So why all the fuss?

Because the go for $.045 per chip. That's four and a half cents per chip. Most people end up with a 500 chip faux clay set, case and shipping included, for less than $50 and IMO (and in the opinion of many others) they play and sound FAR better than the typical 11.5g chips you find all over the place and even better than some of the better chips you'll find out there.

For the price they are near-impossible to beat.

You can also get a lot of faux clay info on chiptalk.net

I got mine from discountcasinogear.com. They have a rather large selection to choose from, and at the time I bought my chips (about 6 months ago), they had the best price for that style by at least $0.05/chip (this may be an exaggeration, I really don't remember for sure...I do remember that there were a couple of sites that sold the same chips for $0.10 more though) over any other site.

A couple of things to mention:
1. Don't do this if you're from canada.
2. Don't upgrade for 100 extra, just do another promotion for another 300 case.
3. This is the best affiliate promotion. These chips are worth around 190 retail. Do this for partypoker at 25 NL and bodog by wagering 300 dollars in the sportsbook (or playing 5 or 7 stud if you want).

These are the nicest chips I've seen. I only got 2 sets before I ran out of sites though.

Oh and give the referal bonus to someone or else its just money lost.
