Default $11 Party just started n00b in need of help of a standard hand

like title suggested very standard but would like to know about my play on the flop and turn

Party Poker
No Limit Holdem Tournament
Blinds: t30/t60
9 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (9 players) hero is MP2 with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
3 folds, <font color="#cc0000">hero raises to t190</font>, 3 folds, SB calls t160 <font color="aaaaaa">(pot was t280)</font>, BB folds.

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (t440, 2 players)
SB checks, <font color="#cc0000">hero bets t240</font>, <font color="#cc0000">SB raises to t600</font>, hero calls t360 <font color="aaaaaa">(pot was t1280)</font>.

Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (t1640, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets t750</font>, <font color="#cc0000">hero raises all-in t1460</font>, SB folds.
Uncalled bets: t710 returned to hero.

Results:

I think a decent beginners rule is that if you are going to risk all your stack in level 1-2 (providing you havent been crippled) you want at least top pair top kicker.

Gladly shoving all your chips in the middle with crap or because you have a hunch etc will just get you in trouble. People pay you off often enough when you do have a decent hand that you don't need to go out on these fishing expiditions.

ooo ill make sure i post the stack sizes next time. i look back at it and find that to be a horrible play. and i think the reason i did that freudian answered; i had a "hunch"

Sorry, it's in my nature.

Okay, the flop bet is good. But villain has put in about 800 chips after his raise. He's basically telling you that half his stack says you're PF raise and c-bet ain't good enough on this Q high board. You've got no reason not to believe him. You picked him off, so nice read. But I wouldn't recommend doing it on a regular basis.
