[ QUOTE ]
I would say that 500 chips is enough to run a game, but not enough to run the game that I prefer. I like having a LOT of chips on the table, so I prefer to have a TON of smaller denomination chips. I have enough that each player starts with ~ 20 x small blind chips.

But that's just me.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm kinda the same way I like a lotta chips the other guys hate this and think I'm nuts. I hate giving somebody a hundo and only getting 1 chip back, give me 20 or 50. Makes me feel like a man

[ QUOTE ]
I'm getting the 500 NJ chip set. After doing some research I was thinking of the following breakdown for .25/.50NL and .50/1NL:

125 x .25
200 x 1.00
125 x 5.00
50 x 25.00

This should be fine correct?

[/ QUOTE ]

Note that because PSO will give away a free NJ 300 chip set to anyone who signs up with them.

This means everyone has NJ chips.

This means there is no security in Nevada Jacks unless you get custom chips.

Nobody is going to bother sneaking in .25 or 1.00 chips but ...

You may want to consider getting less ubiquitous chips for the $25 chips ...

I don't think this will be a problem. The use of the $25 chips should be rare enough that it is not difficult to keep track of who has them and to make sure they are cashed out at the end of the night.

I would get chips in the denom's of $25(G), $100(B), $500(P), $1000(not sure of color) so that you can have the flexibility of a tourney using typical denoms. You can always say that the $25 = 25c and $100 = $1 for the cash games.

I don't understand why you wouldn't just use real denominations for the cash game and divide the typical blinds by 100 if you wanted to have a tournament.

This would be my preference. I would use them equally for the cash and tourneys. I would lean towards the tourney side as fist choice then cash. But if you want to drop some change get both sets
