Speaking of Carnival, they just penned a deal with these guys to put them in all of the Carnival ships by the end of the year.
Sad, sad..... |

Think of those eight thousand WSOP players and number of dealers required....someone HAS to figure out a way to maintain the integrity of play and eliminate those dealers. It will be "digital or electronic", a "table" may not even be involved. But the players should be on the premise with cash money for deposit.

It's been at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL, for at least a year. It wasn't very popular for ring games -- there were a few PokerPro regulars you always saw at these tables. But people sat at them mostly because you could get a seat quickly and you can get in some play while you're waiting for a seat at a live table.
Recently, though, they started using them strictly for STTs, and now they're always filled. I played ring games at one a few times when it was new. It wasn't like playing online because you did have real people sitting around you. But there wasn't the immediacy of live interaction with your opponents, either. It really felt like a middle ground between online and live. The best thing, of course, was that there was no dealer to tip and you didn't have to worry about dealer or player mistakes that tend to slow things down at a live table. |

They don't know poker or how to manage it, so this is a good viable option. |

I just got back from a Carnival cruise, and my experience was fine.
Maybe I just got lucky with a good dealer/staff, etc. |

I think usingthe tables as sit-n-gos are actually a very good use for the tables. Part of the reason that a Sit-n-go is so expensive in a casino is having to pay the dealer to sit there and manage, open and close the game, and the large tip expected by the dealer. Sit-n-go devotees come from a online background, nobody ever gets a huge chip stack in a sit-n-go (the money's not real anyway), and the computer handles essentially what takes 2-3 people to manage.
