This one turned ugly for me. Who folds this preflop? I'm being offered insanely juicy odds to hit something like two pair. Lo and behold, two pair. Nothing to do but push this turn, right? |

I always fold pre...maybe call with TJs.
Yes easy push on the turn...the pot is already huge. Run good, Scrilla |

Re: $27: Probably should have folded preflop
Can someone tell me why I should be folding preflop? I'm getting monster odds, and so long as I don't get out of line postflop with just a pair, it should be profitable long-term. Where am I going astray?

Re: $27: Probably should have folded preflop
Doesn't an open shove on the turn only get called by hands that are way ahead (not that there are many that make sense being out)? I know half the deck is a scare card on the river, but still...
Also, you fold this pre-flop because BB is dead anyway, and you want to give UTG and CO a chance to go at it, not get in their way with a hand that's going to suck to play OOP most of the time. |

Re: $27: Probably should have folded preflop
Monster odds maybe but 300 is still a significant proportion of you stack, it's all about preservation. Stop leaking chips from the SB.

Re: $27: Probably should have folded preflop
Yeah, you should fold preflop. Your odds may be good, but you're out of position and it's a large percentage of your stack. In this situation you're almost never seeing a flop that you like, and even if you hit a pair like this, what do you do? Don't blindly go by the odds, try to formulate a plan for the rest of the hand. If there's no plan that looks good to you then don't call.
