2/4: KK Bet/Fold On River
I had been very aggressive thus far, playing many hands and showing down some questionable ones.
Do you prefer a river check/call here as opposed to bet/fold? I feel like the former will have me missing out on some value bets in the long run. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 6 handed) converter MP ($540) CO ($1017.30) Button ($398) SB ($395.60) Hero ($842.21) UTG ($456.10) Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $2. 1 fold, MP raises to $14, 3 folds, Hero calls $10. Re: 2/4: KK Bet/Fold On River
Very rarely do people 3-barrel bluff like that, so I def. prefer to bet-fold here. Queens and such will call the 65.
The only problem is that a good player will see your bet excactly for what it is, a blocking bet. I suspect you don't encounter enough of them for that to be a problem though. Peter |

Why didnt you raise the turn? [/ QUOTE ] My reason (even though I hate it, now that I think about it) is that I figured I had 6 clean outs to win the hand even if I were behind. Therefore, I didn't raise the turn, because I didn't want to get reraised and forced to fold. Only problem with this is that it is silly to consider the 4 J's clean outs and even a K won't win me the pot all the time. OK, so let's say I raise the turn to 75 or 80. Do you shut down completely to a call? Do you go to the felt if a K hits on the river? |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think this board lends well to a good player sensing a blocking bet and raising the river. Especially with the runner-runner flush that just hit. I can't even see Villain raising with a naked A here, though I suppose that depends on the player. |

RR PF. Check/fold flop. [/ QUOTE ] I really don't like this line very much at all. First off, while my standard play here is to RR pre-flop, I don't think you can say that this should always be done. About 1/5 times, I will smooth call the raise PF looking to trap on an Ace-less flop. Second, after a RR PF, you won't even fire a c-bet? Seems like you're just asking someone to bet you off your hand here. If I take the RR PF line, I would fire a c-bet and shutdown to a call and fold to a raise. |
