I'm pretty much the same except I use warm water and add the step of brushing tongue after brushing teeth. I usually floss throughout the day when at home with that reach flossing thing.

No water. Why dilute the paste more than necessary.
Also, I have 3 different type brushes(diff angles/firmnesses/etc). I interchange these expecting to get better overall coverage over time. Rinse after of course. Your hot water is not weird tho maybe decadent - ineffective at any improvement but more pleasant
