Default Hmmm....Valuetown or Cautious City

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $.25/$.50
4 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
Hero has 68, Villain Covers

Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is CO with 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Hero raises to 2, Btn calls, Blinds fold.

Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($4.75, 3 players)
Hero bets $4, Villain Calls.

Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($12, 2 players)
Hero checks, Villain Checks.

River: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($12, 2 players)
Hero bets $12, Villain raises to $24, Hero?

I had been fairly aggro, and a little loose, but have been getting good cards. Villian is pretty vanilla, doesnt stand out in any way yet.

How much should here raise to here, or should he just call, or do some nits actually suggest folding?

Folding is out of the question, not when we're getting 4:1 with a straight and a villain who played the hand passively up to now.

If we push, the only thing that might call that we beat is a hand like A9, and it's a strange way to play A9. We're certainly not pushing out anything that we beat here. I don't see the value in raising.

Therefore, I take the safe route and call. I expect to see anything from 55 to a busted draw to another 86 here.

I like to fire this turn most of the time.

Just call the river raise.

without any reads it's hard to tell, but I think villain might think his trips are good. Probably has K9 or A9. If he has one of these and is a donk, then he would probably call a push.

I don't see villain checking behind on turn with a nine here, considering the board is 2 flush and somewhat connected. That being said, it looks like he has air, same hand as you, 55, or flopped a set and is uber-slowplaying. I am calling here.

Bet the turn. It's a great card for you if villain is on a spade draw, and being blown off your draw isn't that bad since it is not to the nuts.

Just call the river. No way he calls a raise without a better hand.

I bet the turn every time, you have huge equity in this pot. I would just call this river without a read that villain is a total moron.
