Did I play AK too weak?
This hand is from a 9+1 sattellite on party. The opponent in MP3 has value bet all of his good hands up to this point,as far as I could tell. I had no read on the small stack.
Looking back, I should have made a continuation bet, but I still wanted to hear some opinions. #Game No : 3424862769 ***** Hand History for Game 3424862769 ***** NL Texas Hold'em Trny:19488449 Level:4 Blinds (25/50) - Monday, January 23, 20:11:31 EDT 2006 Table $200K Saturday Qualifier(575831) Table #10 (Real Money) Seat 8 is the button Total number of players : 10 Seat 2: heiniemanush ( $650 ) Seat 6: sa2david ( $3970 ) Seat 7: vieira10 ( $1315 ) Seat 8: Colinz1001 ( $1340 ) Seat 9: DelCaratori ( $1610 ) Seat 10: jcwalker ( $3270 ) Seat 5: NV_STEWBALL ( $3145 ) Seat 4: Screw_Face ( $440 ) Seat 1: Brenda668 ( $870 ) Seat 3: BBUDDY777 ( $1065 ) Trny:19488449 Level:4 Blinds (25/50) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to vieira10 [ Ad Ks ] Brenda668 calls [50]. heiniemanush calls [50]. Re: Did I play AK too weak?
a whole lotta times i wish i played it the way you did,i'm way more likely to raise more, and push any flop,or just push it in preflop, and hope to take down the pot there or get a race. usually building a stack i'm alot more aggresive with ak,and would take a race,if i had a better stack i'd play it closer to your line.

Re: Did I play AK too weak?
If I raise with AK, get 2 callers, and the flop comes 987, I generally check/fold too.

Re: Did I play AK too weak?
With 4 callers maybe raise a tad more, like 250 preflop. But that's nit picking. You basically played it perfectly. If you made a continuation bet you would have had half your stack in the pot. That's not a good thing when you have nothing but overcards.

Nah, seems pretty basic here. Extremely bad flop for you.

Re: Did I play AK too weak?
A normal raise (of course I vary my bets) for me here is 3xBB + 1BB for each limper. That amounts to 350, so 300-400 would be a good bet. All-in is also thinkable, since you'll be called by hands that you either dominate or coinflipping against (AA and KK are unlikely). I'm also happy to pick up the 275 already in the pot so I'd probably go for the push. And since you, after the raise, don't have enough money to make a cont. bet without committing yourself to the pot, we have another good reason to push it.
