Default When You Can Only Win By Betting.....

And your opponent knows it... I was donking around at 50NL when I encountered this guy. He's "the bettor." Always bets when checked to when a perceived scare card hit. He bets strong, too. I had seen him go all-in on what I suspected were complete bluffs. I figured a set was a pretty good bluff catching hand. I was hoping he hit this river, but I think you'll laugh when you see the results - I did.

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.25/$0.50
5 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $43.20
CO: $0
Button: $40.80
Hero: $59.35
BB: $80.85

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is SB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG folds, Button raises to $1, Hero calls $0.75.

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($2.5, 3 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $2.5, Hero raises to $5, Button calls $2.5.

Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($12.5, 3 players)
Hero bets $7, Button calls $7.

River: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($26.5, 3 players)
Hero checks so that the poor unsuspecting donkey may bluff off all his chips and...., Button obliges and is all-in $27.8, Hero beats villain to the pot and calls $27.8.

Results:
Final pot: $82.1
Button showed 4s 5h
Hero showed 4c 4h

At first I was getting ready to puke because I thought he had the ass end of the straight. Then, I realized he was just a silly donkey who couldn't just check behind when he knew there was no way he was ahead.

Your flop play looks like a K. His pot-size bet at the end isn't so bad, because a K will have a hard time fading that board.

You really think it looks like a scared K on the river? That's pretty much what I was going for.

I have no problem with his river push seeing as how the hand played out thus far.

I don't like bringing strategy into BBV, but is this a push you routinely make with a hand like KTo?
