Default A Brave New World.......Film Suggestions

My cousin is teaching a college level creative writing course in which his students will be reading Huxley's A Brave New World. He wants to couple the book with a film of similar ideas and philosophical undertones. We've thought of The Matrix, Gattica, and 1984. While great choices he's looking for something less known. Any ideas??

THX 1138, V for Vendetta.

I had a scifi lit class in highschool where we read Brave New World and 1984. [censored] my ability to trust government forever.

Huh? There's nothing of merit in those works to warrant discussion in a college level course?

Equillibrium starring Cristian Bale (Batman Begins, American Psycho).

Its basically a rip off of BNW and a few other distopian type works. In the movie, the society is drugged similair to BNW, they have an ordered society and regions that are more 'wild' (the nether). check the movie out, its pretty cool

Why are you comparing movies? Another book would do fine i'd think. Anyways, I'd say 1984 is a safe bet, but the two are very very different, 1984 is a dystopia, where as if you flat out call BNW a dystopia you are missing something.

Euqilibrium was such a rip-off of 1984 that I'd hate to give it the credit of being compared with BNW

To the guy who suggested BNW isn't a 'college level' work: lol
