Read: villain's overly aggressive, pots every street until somebody stops him.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (4 handed) internettexasholdem.com

Button ($80.75)
SB ($35.55)
BB ($22.90)
Hero ($25.50)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1</font>, Button calls $1, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>.

Flop: ($2.35) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets $2.5</font>, Hero calls $2.50.

Normally I'd lead out here, but I checked my HUD, and saw that he folded to c-bets/flop bets a lot. So I checked, and the bet I expected came.

Turn: ($7.35) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets $77.25 (All-In)</font>, Hero calls $22 (All-In).

Awesome card, of course, and I let him represent my hand.

River: ($106.60) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players, 2 all-in)</font>

Final Pot: $106.60

Results below:
Hero has Ah Jh (flush, ace high).
Button has Ts Kh (high card, king).
Outcome: Button wins $55.25. Hero wins $51.35.

This happened two hands later. UTG is Button from the previous hand. The hand doesn't qualify per the BB rule, but since it's the same villain...

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (5 handed) internettexasholdem.com

UTG ($55.60)
MP ($35.45)
Button ($22.55)
Hero ($49.10)
BB ($7.05)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls $0.25, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Hero completes, BB checks.

Completing here isn't standard either. However, I felt 95% certain that he'd call a PFR, and 90% certain that a c-bet would not work this time.

Flop: ($0.75) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $0.75</font>, BB folds, UTG calls $0.75.

This time I decided to lead out, partly for pot control (3/4 pot on the turn, rather than full pot or an overbet), and partly because this aggressive line should look like a bluff to him, given how passively I played the last hand.

Turn: ($2.25) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $1.5</font>, UTG calls $1.50.

River: ($5.25) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $3</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $14.75</font>, Hero calls $11.75.

I puked when he made this raise. My bet was intended as a blocker. I thought it over for a while, then decided he could easily be on crazy monkey tilt, or have a worse ace. So I called, and MHIG.

Final Pot: $34.75

Results below:
UTG has 5s 7s (one pair, fives).
Hero has Qc As (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Hero wins $34.75.

I ran pretty goddamn awful today (QQ &lt; 74o all-in on 766 flop in a $200 pot; 33 &lt; AA all-in on turn of Q836 board, $200 pot; various shortstacks winning AI on flop as 25% underdogs) but managed occasional glimmers of happiness to cap off the weekend.

Yeah, see those downward spikes? Imagine if they pointed upward. I cry thinking about it.

Anyway:

Default Re: Weekend Happy Thread XVI: That Friday Feeling

a decent weekend for me; friday night and tonight (sunday) were both great, but saturday was one of my roughest sessions in recent memory. got involved in my first 500BB pot, which i luckily didn't lose (or win, for that matter :P). even though it technically doesn't fit the requirements listed for posts in this thread, i decided to include it for the sheer amount of grief i experienced when the river card hit.

This is the first weekend since May where I've run good enough to bother posting here.

I think villain in this hand was something like 20/3. When he called preflop I thought to myself that he must have a pair to be calling my raise. When he leads into me I know he has a set of something so I just drop the bomb.
