Default AA multiway and feeling lost like a snake on a plane

I think I played this hand horribly and after converting in more ways than I first thought.
Reads:

SB unkown shortie.
BB ~ 50% VPIP and why I've joined the table.
CO okish player, not positionally aware, multitabling 25/5/2 (6 river) over 225 hands.
Though he did call a PFR with 23s UTG after limping then call PSB on flop with bottom pair no draws and then small turn bet so I'm not so sure.

Poker Stars
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.25/$0.50
5 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
Hero: $45.50
CO: $48.25
Button: $48.05
SB: $25.75
BB: $127.70

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Hero raises to $2, CO calls, Button folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($8, 4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $4, CO calls, SB calls, BB calls.

I messed up here - didn't realise until converted, for some reason I thought the pot was 6 and bet 4 -would normally bet 6 which probably led to more callers.

Turn: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($24, 4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks, CO bets $6.5, SB calls, BB calls, Hero calls.

This is where the pots getting big, multiway and I'm lost

River: 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($50, 4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks, CO bets $16.5, 2 folds, Hero raises all-in $33, CO calls.

Two gone and one left - now what has CO got that bets 16.5 into a 50$ pot , I put him on AK,KQ,88,77,KK busted fdraw, fdraw and a pair and 78 2pair. I think he has Ak, 78 most likely and his weak river bet( like my flop bet ) I push given read and sizeof the pot.

Results:
Final pot: $116

So how should Hero have proceeded.

I agree: bet more (PSB) on flop... exactly the flop you were looking for.

Open turn... board is still pretty non-threatening. As played, reraise CO.

I would open river but like the reraise of the 1/3pot bet and am happy going to the felt with overpair

turn, i like leading, dont want to chance giving a free card. The river helps your hand, but im not sure im raising this bet.

I hate the turn check. Given the texture of the board, you're most likely up against pair hands and draws. I'd bet 3/4 on the turn. As played, I would reraise that 6 dollar bet big time.

Bet more all around. Bet the turn. Protect your hand. I would have bet $8 on the flop and probably have been all in on the turn or river, given the # of callers.

4 players = pot flop. I understand betting $6 here but I only do that with 1-2 opponents.

Turn - pot again or slighly under. In this instacne I would bet 20.

River - If your here its an easy AI (since betting turn and stuff) BUT since your bet into I just call. You are probably ahead but I think its close. You should be the one betting
