Top 25 poker sites, here they are....

ok, don't get too excited. This is actually a list of the top 25 sites according to Deal Magazine. I've never even heard of this mag. The following list certainly questions their understanding of the poker scene. Here's their list, with my comments to the side.

The top 25 sites:

1. The Poker Player's Alliance - huh? Ok, I like the cause, but really #1
2. 2+2 - Although I think Mason is pretty much an a-hole, this should be #1 probably.
3. RecPoker - this site completely sucks these days. 3 years ago, it was a good site, now it's an unmoderated site full of 12 year olds and spammers.
4. WPT - ok
5. Pocket Fives - should be higher
6. Live at the Bike - was cool to watch until they started charging for it.
7. Gambling Law US - never been there, maybe I should check it out.
8. The Poker Forum - don't know much about this one
9. Poker Junkie - just checked it out, there's one person browsing the forum
10. The Poker Pod - podcasts are hot, but I don't know this site
11. Binion's World Series of Poker - ok
12. Poker1.com - total of 1,600 posts and 1 person viewing right now.
13. Pokerlistings.com - good site, should probably be higher
14. Poker Pulse - looks like it sucks to me
15. Conjelco Publishing -ok
16. JoshArieh.com - I like josh, but he rarely updates his site. His last blog is the NBC HU match
17. AnnieDuke.com - no problem here
18. PhilHellmuth.com - no problem here
19. Bonuswhores - understandable
20. Home Poker Tourney - decent
21. Poker TV Network - ?
22. Rolling Good Times - have no clue about this one
23. BTP - bet the pot.com, actually should be way higher for cash game players
24. FlopTurnRiver - I don't spend time here, but it should probably be higher
25. TightPoker.com - looks like new article once every 2 weeks.

I could name at least 5 sites that can't be left off a legit top 25 list. Obviously, they're probably not going to list other magazines, but I think if your not going to do it correctly, then don't do it.

Fullcontactpoker has to be on the list and I'm not sure way they would leave this one off.

Any feel free to add other sites they think should be on the list.

I thought the list had to be old as well, but I believe it came out in the August 2006 issue.

The Poker Forum is one of the worst forums I've ever seen. Some decent articles, though.

It was written by Chris Wallace aka pokerfox from pokerfox.net. It was in the August issue so no the list isn't old. The reason he puts thepokerforum so high is because it is a great place to track when poker "shows" will be televised.

Don't know how websites like annieduke.com and philhellmuth.com make the list and websites like neverwinpoker.com and fullcontactpoker.com dont'.

Another site that should be in there is thehendonmob.com especially for its poker database.
