Default Re: Choosing Guitar Strings

My favorite strings are D'Addario blues/jazz rock strings (.011, .014,.018,.028,.038,.049). I play a lot of blues/jazz/rock/fusion on a semihollowbody and these are great.

For my strat I typically use either D'Addario or Dean Markley.

For acoustic I use elixir nanoweb .12s which are great.

It really depends on if you have electric or acoustic and what sort of tonal characteristics you are looking for. For example, if you want your guitar to be brighter, some strings could give you a brighter tone.
