Default ?? When does going AI reopen the action ??

I've got a question about NL betting rules.

I'm playing with 50-100 blinds. I raise to 600. A player calls. A 3rd player sitting with _____ chips goes all-in.

At what point does the last push reopen the action to me? Does it have to be 1100 to reopen the action? Or does an amount that is 1/2 or more of a raise (in this case 600+250 = 850 or more) reopen the action?

It may depend, but generally the full bet is required to reopen the action. This would be the normal rule, anthing else a regional exception.

Normally, like WUC said, a full bet is required to reopen the action.

In your example, any reise short of $600 would not reopen action. Unless his all in was $600+, action is limited to calling the short raise. If someone after the AI wants to raise (that hasn't acted) they would need to raise to $1200 total, minimum.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes. Anything less than a full raise in NL closes the action for a re-raise.

I'd suggest searching on "Reopening the betting," but knowing the search here, you'd better feel lucky. ("Baby needs a new pair of shoes!")

Maybe Google will work. It's been discussed like 50 quadrillion times and we're all too lazy to add it to a wiki page for future reference.

Big blind was $100. You raised $500 to make it $600. The all in would need to be at least another $500 - $1100 to reopen the action to you. The rule is as follows: In no-limit and pot limit, less than a full raise does not reopen the betting to a player who already has acted.

Fortunately now i don't feel like the biggest nit in the thread.

I grant (and granted) that the search isn't that good, but the threads about reopening the betting might actually be of interest to the OP.

Hey, a Google search found the thread I was thinking of, but then I had to go in the cache to actually find the thread.

There are others, but I'll leave them as an exercise.
