I'm constantly intrigued by why it is we go about living life. The experience is often so cruel and bitter and lonely. So, aside from the primitive will to survive, what is your reason for living? What motivates you to get out of bed every morning and continue with the pain?

WOW. Prozac much?

To do the right thing.

To be a good father, a good husband, a good son, and a good engineer.

You will be happiest when you are doing what you know is right.

Im really moody, proably suffering some kind of depression, but my moodyness might have something to do with all the Speed, and E's I take on the weekend.

In the end, live for the weekend.

For the feeling when you walk out of work on a Friday, and call your mate.

Its going to the pub and tuning the bar girl half the night.

In the summer its the beach. How good is the beach. And I dont care where your from, my beach is better than yours. (Portsea ocean beach BTW)

Its cricket. The greatest game. Whether its busting my arse in the field on a 39 degree day, or watching the Aussies from Bay 13 at the MCG. Cricket is the best.

Its the MCG.

Its being with girls that are far too hot for me, but that doesnt matter, because she's here, and Im here, and thats it.

Its time spent alone with my thoughts, which is much of the day. Thinking and re-thinking and overthinking every topic which comes into my head. Laughing at stupid [censored] that me or a mates said or done, and planning the perfect line for that hot bar chick at my Friday night local.

It's the little things, like many have already said:

-a good joke

-an inspiring story/movie/quote

-hitting rock bottom. When you do that, things can only get better. You aquire a new appreciation for things previously taken for granted

-having something to look forward to (vacation, weekends, holidays, sleep, time with friends/family)

-reminiscing

-having 2 hours and 45 minutes every day commuting to think about anything and everything.

-setting goals and achieving them

-thunderstorms

-a crisp, fall day

-change

Yes!! I love these things too. In fact, when I feel like crap I make a list of all the little things I love and it totally picks me up. Good reasons DarrenX!

A lot of days it's hard to find a reason other than the alternative hurts too many people I care about. It's not that I dislike life, it's more of an apathy. I'm tired of work, tired of cleaning the house, tired of driving kids everywhere, tired of just the grind of daily life. I honestly look forward to just going to sleep a lot of times.

When I have a couple days of absolutely nothing to do, I feel more enthused about things though.
