Drinking can set the right table image and in small amounts, can allow those with an anxious predisposition to focus on the game.

My reason for drinking, while playing limit games, is that you would be losing a great comp if you didn't - those drinks add up. My reasons for playing live poker is to have a good time and probably pad my bankroll. When I am serious, no alcohol and usually online.

This is one of those questions that just depends on the person. I'm a pretty big guy and feel no different after a drink or two. So like somebody else said I take advantage of the great comp and usually have 2 or 3 drinks over a 10-12 hour session.

A few drinks can take the pain off the bad beats if you are running cold.

A few more and soon you might put em on someone else.

I drink often when playing both live and online. I rarely get drunk when sitting at home playing online by myself, but I'll often do it when playing live. If I'm playing serious stakes that I care about, I don't think it negatively affects my game too much.

I drink till I get cut off. that's why I play online. no one can cut me off from my 30pack of high life.

for a couple months over the spring, the only time I played was when I came back from a bar or party hammered/blacked out. I had a couple respected posters sweat me a bunch of times and they said that even though I couldn't walk straight somehow I was playing great poker. so I'm not really worried about it. I also won my biggest pot ever (4k+) on the second day of a 36 hour drinking/poker binge in ac. hell just last week I took a taxi to commerce at 6am and when 10am rolled around I couldn't figure out where I was or how I got there.

I just turned 20 and when i drive to Windsor from my home town of Cleveland OH I feel like I have to drink while playing because I cant buy booze in the states and it makes me feel like a bad ass to have a beer at the table. Maybe i should just wait till Cheetahs after my session.... but the booze there is just WAY TOO EXPENSIVE
