NL100: FD + gutter, too fancy?
Was running good so I felt a little frisky. Villain was 38/12/4 over 200 hands and had played fairly well. Is this a good way to play this hand?

If villain is capable of laying down an ace then the play looks fine to me.

I'm unsure about the flop play, but isn't his a bad preflop call?

but isn't his a bad preflop call? [/ QUOTE ] This is read-dependent. If hero thinks either villain (especially pf raiser) will go too far with TP or an overpair, then this can be very profitable. |

Re: NL100: FD + gutter, too fancy?
your bluffing with plenty of outs , but bluffing isnt really worth it at these levels cause they just call. i think iwould just gamble and re-raise the flop if anything although i would have folded preflop anyway.

Re: NL100: FD + gutter, too fancy?
Great play against the right villian, but I don't know if 38/12/4 is the right villian. Much better to try folding out someone who is more of a nit.

Try this on the flop, where you have tons of equity.

Re: NL100: FD + gutter, too fancy?
Do you mean push all-in on the flop, or make a standard reraise and then call if he pushes? How do you play turn if he just calls?

Re: NL100: FD + gutter, too fancy?
I think checkraising for less than all-in is scarier than checkraising all-in. If you've shown that you can play a set this way at the table and villain might have noticed, then the all-in justifiable.
But I don't like the bluff here on the turn. equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 53.2239 % 53.22% 00.00% { AJs+, AJo+ } Hand 2: 46.7761 % 46.78% 00.00% { 8c7c } Look at all that [censored] equity you have on the flop. Consider b3bai on the flop: lead, if he raises then you can push Or checkraise |
