i am heading to Vegas later this week, was wondering if anybody would recommend any tourneys? I'd like to play in a few and stay under $200 per buy-in.
If anyone knows of a list that would be nice too, i used the seach function but didnt find any love. Thanks in advance. |

Go to the Sahara at 7pm any day I think. You can call them. It's a 65 buy in plus some like 20 rebuy. Soft.

Caesar's has a nooner that's a $80+40 (or something like that) that has a great structure.
MGM has one in the late morning/afternoon that's a $60 buy-in that's also not bad. Stay away from the Excaliber and Luxor... both huge crapshoots. You could also check these out: Link 1 Link 2 Link 3 P.S. Google is your friend...... |

Pick up a copy of Card Player magazine and flip to the back. There's a list of tourneys at practically every casino in the country in there by day of the week and state.

The Wynn has 1 table satellites to their $300 and $500 tournies, as does Bellagio to their 1k's.
Venetian also had a great tourney for like a little less than $200, great structure, good starting chips, 30 min blinds I believe. Caesar's noon tourney and evening tournies are ok, I hate that the blinds go 25/50,50/100,100/200a25,200/400a50,400/800a100, but they are 40 minute levels. Cheers! John |

You get 3500 in chips and for the first hour there's actually a good amount of post flop play before it goes to your standard pushfest. They run it 3 times a day, 11 am, 7pm, and 11pm. I love the 11 pm drunkfest, I make a point to make at least one of those everytime I'm in Vegas (properly hydrated of course). Somebody has a website for poker in Vegas that lists all the tourneys and buy ins, stack sizes, time it takes. It's really comprehensive. I can't think of the name right now and can't search since I'm at work (links are all blocked). |

The Venetian tourney rocks. $180 total buy in($125 buy in+$5 Dealer bonus+$50 single rebuy), $4000 starting chips, 30 minute levels. I played it 5x while I was out for the WSOP and made FT 2x. The competition was pretty bad, but better than usual since we were getting a lot of the WSOP crowd. Caesars is good too, but I liked the Venetian better because they have a 100/200 then 100/200 25 ante, then 200/400 and Caesars jumps right from 1/2 to 2/4. Caesars does have 40 min levels but doesn't make up for the extra level when you typically need it IMO.

MGM Grand has a $100+25 6 table max tourney at 6PM. No rebuys, I played last Sunday, 20 players bought back in for the full 125. not that I claim to be any good, but I saw about 10 players call off all their chips with no hand no draw. Plus it is a very nice room
