Button seemed a bit of a calling station but not a strong read. Was thinking to myself that a check/fold on the river may be better than a bet/fold. Who thinks what?

You're probably beat, but the river bet seems okay to me. Maybe you'll get called by QJ or a stubborn 99 or something.
In position, I would check. |

b/f is really your only option here. He's given you no indication he has a A. Lower K's, PP's, and even 5's are in his range so you can't fold. If you c/c, he'll just bet the stuff that beats you and check a lot of the stuff that doesn't.

Im not check/folding the river with the FD on the board. I would either Bet/fold or check/call. I think you played the hand fine.
Against this guy I would bet/fold also. |

In general, what makes a river a check/call for you guys versus a bet/fold.

Ok that makes sense. Also, it would seem that (against the same opponent) you would be better to bet/fold with worse hands and check/call with a stronger TPfaceK type hand.

[/ QUOTE ] Why would you check/call with a stronger hand? Just so that we don't have to pay 2 bets for showdown? But we're missing value too often to avoid betting IMO. |
