Default Why PotLimit Omaha?

Recently, I have realized that high limit players love to play high limit Omaha Hi. Is it because it generates more action, therefore more money?

The better question is why NL?

1. PLO is more fun than NL
2. You can play more PLO starting hands and not be a complete dunkey.
3. You get 4 cards instead of just 2 (more is better right?)
4. Ribbos says so.

The bad PLO players are about 2x as bad as the bad NLHE players, on average.

It is very easy for a bad player to run good occasionally and book a a big win. This will often keep them from realizing how outmatched they are, and they will continue to play/donate, longer than they would in NLHE, thinking they are just running bad and can get it all back in a with a few big pots. Fish I play holdem with that will usually quit after 2 buyins, will eagerly get in for 5 buyins or more in PLO.

The pros love it simply, because it's the best cash game out there. Money is always flying around and if you pay attention to the top pot limit omaha players like Phil Ivey you'll notice that they play more hands then not. You can't play this loose in any other poker games for profit.

Seems to apply to my 5/5 1500max game, which is about 3 times bigger than a 3/6 100bb game. I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Live PLO.

Live games are very different. But even then over time they evolve. After a year even the worse donk realises an 8 out straight draw isn't the nuts. No one plays PLO because they think the skill differential is bigger.
