Re: Hand vs. Negreanu on Day 1C
Negreanu could have called with anything and he certainly could have the 5. He is also likely to make this play representing the 5 in this situation. That is why his playing so many hands strategy works. I really think it is probably that Negreanu is bluffing here.

Re: Hand vs. Negreanu on Day 1C
Just get away. The reason DN plays so many hands is because bhe can outplay people after the flop. Coming into this spot OOP with a bad hand is just begging to get in trouble, and so you have. If he's playing every pot, then great, wait until you have a real hand then get into this spot with him, don't do it with Q8. As played, I think he's bluffing, but do you really wanna get stacked with Q8?

After Negreanu raises, there is 14K in the pot and you have 18K left. If you think you have the best hand, then get the rest in. I think Negreanu makes this raise in this situation no matter what. If he is playing random cards (which he pretty much is in this situation), there is about a 1/12 chance he has a 5 and a 1/15 chance he has a higher Q. It is real unlikely he flat called with QQ-AA. I don't see what the problem is with going bust with Q8. Is it better to go bust with AA? If a play has positive expectation, make it. Don't be afraid of looking bad. |

Re: Hand vs. Negreanu on Day 1C
you're either way ahead or way behind. either push or fold, but i tend to say fold only because he knows T5k is a decent part of your stack.
but then again, hes repping a 5, so chances are he doesnt have one. |

PF sucks, you have to make a move at the weak guy if you're so sure he's weak, hit him back to at least 4k

[ QUOTE ] you're either way ahead or way behind [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] either push or fold, [/ QUOTE ] ? [/ QUOTE ] The problem is you are not way ahead or way behind here. You are totally crushed or you are currently way ahead with a vulnerable hand. So push or fold may be best here. As I said, this is such a good bluffing situation that I really think Negreanu is most likely bluffing. So I would probably push. Then if Neegreanu has the nuts, he can write his next article on what an idiot I am. |

Re: Hand vs. Negreanu on Day 1C
Betgo,
Your hand isn't especially vulnerable when you are ahead. I can't see pushing here. Just check and let DN bluff at it if you think you're ahead often enough (and I wouldn't be surprised if you were). |
