Re: ****OFFICIAL LOW CONTENT THREAD v.1****
Yeah, it was 14 hours of [almost] live coverage of every hand. No hole cams, which is fine by me.
The one-hour edited episodes blow. |

(if you were paying attention to the threads in WSOP discussion) I was quite surprised how interesting it could be with no hole cams. Phil Gordon rules. It's gotten me very curious what their actual hands were though. |

I'm sick of holdem players thinking they're better than us. Why does everyone look down upon Omaha players [/ QUOTE ] I've heard it said the real professional players consider PLO to be the best single test of a poker player. I don't know if that's true, but it's nice to think so. |

I'm sick of holdem players thinking they're better than us. Why does everyone look down upon Omaha players [/ QUOTE ] Its because all of those extra cards: 1. It's easier for us to make hands, so you don't run bad as often 2. People are afraid of what they don't understand: those 2 extra cards are too much for holdumb players to take in Any others guys? |

I was up 7 buy-ins in a home game last night. 5c/10c 3-handed, button straddles nearly every hand, towards the end of the night the game was almost 1000BB deep.
SH PLO is fun. |

Re: ****OFFICIAL LOW CONTENT THREAD v.1****
Anyone want to help me analyze my year so far?
(that made it to Pokertracker) I've got 13,500 hands at PLO25, 4 BB/100, $260 profit, $740 rake 5,500 at PLO50, 10 BB/100, $560 profit $435 rake 440 at PLO100, 6 BB/100, $60 profit, $48 rake 15 at PLO200, 146 BB/100, $88 profit, $5 rake (I must have been drinking to play PLO200.) 2/5 Live 10 hrs, $600 profit, no idea on rake, but probably $50 in drink tips. The PLO25 numbers are greatly skewed due to a lot of learning that went on. I had a better winrate before I started reading 2+2. Probably a waste of time to play PLO25 with rake, and since I have enough numbers to be fairly certain I can beat PLO50. I'm playing mostly PLO50 right now and playing well. Since May 1, I have a 15 BB/100 with $800 profit. I'm rolled to play some PLO100 as per most bankroll suggestions and TheRempel's bankroll/game chart. But I think want to play a lot more hands at PLO50 before trying to make PLO100 my regular game. Any of you conservative players base moving up on number of hands played? I'm thinking I want at least 15,000 at PLO50 before a move. My reasoning on basing moving up on a number of hands, is the stories I've seen of dudes that go on a winstreak (in holdem), they are then rolled for a game that they may or may not be able to beat. By playing a lot more hands at a level before moving up, you should have a better idea of "where you are at". |

Re: ****OFFICIAL LOW CONTENT THREAD v.1****
I think you should be able to beat PLO25 for more then that but 13500 is a very small sample and given the high variance of PLO your true WR could be much higher. Why not post a sreen shot of your actual stats?
As per your second issue, I have often done then "Play X hands then move up" thing. I have mixed feelings about it. The only reason I have done it in the past is to build discipline. There is nothing magic about each limit. I try to take the Tommy Angelo approach and avoid thinking of myself as being at a particular limit and instead have a range. For example, I might play 1/2, 2/4 and 3/6. 2/4 being my main game, 1/2 when running bad, tired, wanting to relax and be over-rolled, and 3/6 when the game looks exceptionally good and I want to take a shot with a few buyins. That sort of thing. |

[/ QUOTE ] Any good hands? Sounds like fun. [/ QUOTE ]There was copious amount of boozing but there was one sick sick hand. Stacks Button 60euro, SB 50euro ish. Button blind autoraises to 40c preflop, SB repots to 1.30 ish, BB (me) folds, Button looks at his cards, raises to maybe 3.50, SB calls. PF action maybe slightly different but pot going to the flop is roughly 8 euro. Flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB bets pot 8, Button raises pot 24, SB pushes for 50euro. Why not post a sreen shot of your actual stats? [/ QUOTE ] So what stats particularly? I'm not terribly good at the PokerTracker program, e.g. the PLO50 is broken into 4 groups. And I can't seem to figure out how to expand the screen. [ QUOTE ] As per your second issue I...avoid thinking of myself as being at a particular limit and instead have a range. [/ QUOTE ] That seems like a good approach. So right now my range is PLO25,50, and very rarely 100. How many hands is a good enough sample size? 20k, 30k, 100k? I was just thinking that a good number would be when a session on the high end, i.e wining 3 buyins will be less than 5% of the total amount of money won. |
