ATM Machines where the customers can talk with a live bank tellers 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. You can use call center operators from India and the Philippines (who probably make less than 6 bucks per day) as tellers with American accents from half the world away. This would give bank ATMs a more "personal touch".

This could also apply to bill paying centers for utilities and so forth.

Why wouldn't you just call from home? I wouldn't want to talk about my personal banking at an ATM when anyone walking by can hear me.

I agree w/ this statement. Maybe there's a way around this, like a closed door of a phone booth. Overall, though, it may make many people uncomfortable. also, current ATMs seem to work relatively fast and painlessly for most people and would cost FAR less than having to pay call center people in India.

ATMs are designed to be quick and convenient. Adding an option for live chat would be bad. It might only take 1 person using live chat to form a large line at a busier ATM. If I consistently had to wait in line at my bank's ATM, I would look for a new bank. I use ATMs for banking because I do not want to deal with tellers or wait in line.

You will need to find a way to keep the ATM Fees down. No one is going to pay for an addional fee for a service that they can get for free by walking into a bank (or a drive-thru).
