Argosy Ind trip report with poker HHs

Take a trip to Argosy for the Mrs Bday as she loves the slots and 2/4 LHE. She is a bit disappointed that the lowest limit spread is 3/6 and I can't convince her it's the same and she need not fear the 3/6 sharks. So off to the slots she goes and I find a 1-3 $300 max NL game with three inebriated 20 somethings , a 65ish calling station, 2 or 3 average to good players and 1 aggro 50ish woman. After about 2 orbits I am on the wrong side of the two most aggressive and get on their left with the first seat opening. I post and check dark in mp while moving seats and chips and look at AA as the bb is checking with 6 to the flop of 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Checked to me bet 15, call from player on either side of me. Turn is 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] check I bet 35 and take it down.
The aggro lady who I believe normally plays higher limits starts to run over the table a bit and makes it 20-25 to go about 5 out of 7 hands and as I fold say "wow, you sure do get a lot a great starting hands , huh??" She just shoots me a look and raises to 20 on the next hand. Player between us calls and I call with Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on the button and five of us see a flop of Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Four checks to me and without counting grab what I think is about 3/4 of a red stack a push it forward, 2 folds and lady announces raise. She bumps to $150 and I push. She goes into the tank and makes the call but doesn't look happy about it. Don't know if she was trying to push me off the hand. I hit the flush on the turn and the river is a black king and I double through.
She is replaced by a another drunk who dumps about 200 in red in front of him. He just kind of reminded me of my college days...no wonder it took 6.5 years including summer classes. Decide to go for 2 in a row with 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in the CO unraised pot. Flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and small blind bets 20, I call as does old man calling station...turn is 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] sb bets 30, I call, old man calls. River is red king, sb checks, I bet 40, old man calls sb folds and mhig. Next time I get the button I get AA and it is folded to me I bet 20 and old man calling station calls and flop is K32 rainbow, he checks I bet 30 and he calls. Turn is A and he pushes for about $180. He's played any ace all night so I cant put him on 54 and don't really care as I've been on a rush, he shows A2o and is drawing dead and packs his bags. 3 hands later raise T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] to 10 button and bb call and see a flop of k [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].bb has about 80 and bets 20 I call and button folds. turn is Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and he bets 30 and I push saying "I'm ready to give back some of this rush" He insta calls and shows K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and he packs up too with no help on the river.
Dealers and floor staff were very good, competent and professional. The room is tucked away at the bottom floor of the casino. I remember asking a pit boss a couple years ago if they were ever going to open a poker room. He just laughed and asked " why would we do that??"
Couldn't get an Omaha8 game going which is my fav but winning $800 was nice but I was definitely catching cards and the competition wasn't exactly fierce. The Mrs also won about $400 on slots which isn't easy to do playing 2/4. Hotel room was nice ($89) with plasm tv and comfy kingsize bed.

do they have automatic shufflers or hand shuffle? Do the dealers keep their own tips? Do they take rake or time charge?

auto shufflers, tips are shared, they have a $5max rake + $1 for bad beat. Floor was cool in that I had 3 tables to choose from and he pointed to the drunk table.

I have been three times and the O/8 has gone each time but maybe they know I am a fish.

Hey Steam, It was sun nite and mon afternoon. I asked the floor about O8 and they said they used to spread 5/10 with full kill nightly now they usually just get a game on friday nites-bummer.

It is usually only Fridays when I make the haul up there. I thought seriuosly about going to Casino Aztar to play 10-20 o/8 with a half kill today but settled for Ceasar's IN.
